Associate Pastor of Young Adults

EIKON Church is seeking an associate pastor of young adults. EIKON Church is a recent plant (July 2022) in partnership with the Grace Community Church Korean Congregation. We are an interdependent church that functions and operates independently (leadership, budget, ministry process, etc.) from the Korean congregation but relationally united with a Christ-centered essence and DNA. We will also work collaboratively with specific ministries such as the education department and missions. EIKON Church is part of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada (EFCC) denomination. In this new adventurous and exciting season of ministry, we are looking for an individual with a vibrant and passionate heart for young adults and church ministry. We are seeking a candidate with a pastoral heart that can nurture and develop our young adult members and join with the rest of our congregation in God’s kingdom work. The candidate will work alongside and under the leadership and mentorship of the Lead Pastor in ministering to the congregation. Our congregation consists of mainly young adults and young families in their 20s-40s with roughly 200-250 members in attendance. The position is a full-time position (40 hrs/week).

Payment & benefits will be commensurate with experience and educational background

RESPONSIBILITIES A – GENERAL MINISTRY

· Implement/facilitate the church’s vision and mission

· Participate in all ministry services, events, and staff meetings

· Provide pastoral assistance to the lead pastor with general care, administration and preaching duties

· Prepare and execute discipleship Bible studies for the general congregation on a seasonal basis

· Assist in planning and executing primary worship services in coordination with the pastoral staff and media team

RESPONSIBILITIES B – YOUNG ADULTS MINISTRY

· Provide discipleship and spiritual care for the college & career/young adult ministries

· Provide regular Bible studies, preaching and theological teaching for the young adults

· Prepare and lead weekly small group and fellowship gatherings along with the core leadership group

· Provide accountability and discipleship to all the college & career/young adult cell leaders

· Prepare and execute major yearly/seasonal events such as retreats, special worship nights, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Evidence of genuine passion and commitment for Jesus as well as a strong shepherding heart

· Able to proficiently teach and preach the Word of God

· Able to strategically plan structures and implement them

· Able to work in a team environment

· Passion for detail and committed to organic growth

· A graduate (or near graduation) of a M.A. or M.Div. degree from an accredited theological school

· Ordination from an evangelical denomination (An asset but not required. If not ordained, willing to be ordained with the EFCC)

· Experience working with young adults

· Have some proficiency in musicianship and worship leading. This is not a requirement but will be considered an asset.
