Korean Central Presbyterian Church is located in Centreville, Virginia. We are Reformed in Theology and Presbyterian in Ecclesiology. Description:

The EC Pastor will oversee the training and discipleship of the English Congregation of KCPC. In particular, the EC pastor will teach, equip, and mobilize the Team Leaders and Community Group leaders, and will also work alongside the EC Lead Pastor to identify unique needs and opportunities to help the congregation flourish, with a focus on (1) discipleship, and (2) young adults ministry. An ideal candidate should be a team player, compassionate, and have a heart for serving the English-speaking members of a Korean immigrant church.

Organizational Environment:

The EC Pastor is ultimately accountable to the Senior Pastor, but reports to the EC Lead Pastor for supervision, support, and pastoral accountability.
Furthermore, the following staff and lay positions will work with the EC pastor in various organic capacities in order to maximize the longevity and fruitfulness of the Discipleship pastor.

  • KM Admin and Discipleship Training pastors

Responsibilities: 

  • Preach Redemptive-historical, exegetical, and Gospel-saturated sermons once a month to the English Congregation.
  • Plan and execute a holistic discipleship training curriculum that (1) raises biblical literacy; (2) promotes spiritual formation; (3) equips people for gospel ministry; (4) from ages 22-65.
  • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers to support the EC’s vision and initiatives.
  • Invest pastorally into (1) Young Adults; (2) Team leaders; and (3) Community Group leaders.
  • Infuse every ministry with a philosophy of discipleship.
  • Create a long-term culture of discipleship in KCPC at large.
  • Flexibly work with the EC lead pastor in order to meet the pastoral needs of the congregation.

Qualifications:

  • Exude the qualities listed Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
  • Affirms KCPC-EC’s vision and mission.
  • Graduated from an accredited seminary with an M.Div.
  • 5 years-experience in Pastoral Ministry. Experience in Discipleship Training preferred.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English preferred.
  • Membership in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) preferred.
  • Receive and adopt the Westminster Standards per PCA requirements.
  • Approve the form of government and discipline of PCA Characteristics.
  • A committed and mature follower of Christ Jesus with a deep and consistent life devoted to prayer and God’s Word.

Compensation/Benefits:
  • Starting from $90,000 per year (including housing allowance, insurance, 403(b) pension, etc.)
  • PTO for first year is one week, increasing to 2 weeks the following year (PTO increases over time)
  • Paid holidays and Sabbaticals
