Church Description:

Living Water Mission Church is a Korean-American family church that was founded in 1995. LWMC is made up of two primary ministries: Korean Ministry and English Ministry. LWMC EM is a Presbyterian church with approximately 40-50 adults, ranging from college to families with kids. LWMC EM operates mostly as an independent church under the larger umbrella of Living Water Mission Church.

Job Summary:

This role is for the lead pastor in LWMC’s English Ministry which will be responsible for humbly shepherding and leading the LWMC EM congregation with the support and partnership of the EM Leadership Committee. We are seeking a full-time pastor to join us in leading our EM to encourage and equip them, strengthen their faith, and to help plan, carry out and establish a long-term vision.

Responsibilities:

• Regularly preach the Word of God at Sunday worship service
• Equip leaders through discipleship and mentorship
• Provide pastoral care such as, but not limited to:
• Regular visitations, Office hours, Counseling, Mentoring, Bible studies, etc.
• Conduct regular meetings with EM church staff and/or lay leaders
• Attend and engage in regular meetings with KM church staff and/or lay leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: 

• Master’s degree in theological studies (M.A., M.Div., or similar) from an accredited seminary

Experience:

• 3-5 years of pastoral experience, preferably to an adult congregation
• Experience managing and leading staff and volunteers
• Experience working with adults and families with young children
• Has proven ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality

• Genuinely enthusiastic to get to know the congregation; personable and outgoing
• Embraces team ministry style and fosters collaboration and growth among church leaders and laypeople
• Has a sincere heart for souls and the right teaching of God’s Word
• Listens to the voices of the congregation well and is receptive to constructive feedback
• Ability to collaborate with the KM and Education leadership and staff
• Fluent in English and Conversational in Korean
