Marn-Baeksung UMC, located in Staten Island, NY, is looking for a part-time Youth Pastor.  The youth group has 20-25 kids from grades 6-12.

Job Description:

– Lead Sunday worship for youth group: preaching, overseeing the student praise team and all other aspects of worship

– Lead Friday night activities: currently dinner and biblical small group discussion

– Develop Bible study curriculum

– Guide teacher(s) and student leadership

– Offer pastoral care for youth members

– Organize special events: retreats (summer and winter), revival praise night (once a year), and outings

– Communicate with church leaders and PTA

– Coordinate with the children’s ministry staff for any needs of collaboration

– Collaborate with other church groups for additional church-wide events (e.g. church-wide overseas mission trip, VBS)

– Participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings

Requirements:

– Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited seminary (M.Div or M.A. in Education)

– Fluent in English (Korean is preferred, but not required)

– Experience in Education preferred, but not required

Salary:

– Part-time: Commensurate with education and experience (negotiable)
