Our church is prayerfully seeking a full-time assistant pastor for Lifeway, the English Ministry of Austin Korean Presbyterian Church. The pastor will provide supportive leadership in the areas of preaching, pastoral care, leadership development, and overall spiritual health of the congregation, with the emphasis of overseeing our college ministry.

We are seeking a candidate who has a clear calling for the church, is passionate about serving, walking with, mentoring, and discipling, college students, and who can work on a team with the pastors and elders of our church.

Church Description
Austin Korean Presbyterian Church or AKPC is a Korean American Church located in Austin, Texas. Both ministries, KM (Korean Ministry) and EM (English Ministry), known as Lifeway, are healthy and growing together in partnership to expand God’s Kingdom.
Lifeway is a multi-generational (50 percent of college students) and multi-ethnic congregation made up mostly of Korean Americans. Our church has a rich history, celebrating 50 years of God’s faithfulness this year, and is the largest Korean Church in the greater Austin area. We are looking for an assistant pastor who will work closely with the Pastor of Lifeway and the congregation of Lifeway.

General Responsibilities
This assistant pastorship (EM college) is under the supervision of the Session and the senior pastor. This position will be under the leadership of the EM pastor and will assist the EM pastor including Sunday preaching, shepherding and administrative duties. The pastor is expected to attend all staff meetings, and be present at church events, functions, and special services throughout the year.

The assistant pastor will directly oversee all ministry aspects of our College Ministry including teaching, planning, discipleship, mentoring, counseling, event coordinating, and outreach.

Ministry Responsibilities
✓ Worship: Preach Christ centered and relevant sermons periodically throughout the year for Lifeway and more regularly and consistently for our college ministry.
✓ Leadership: Partner to fulfill the vision, mission, and direction of Lifeway along with key church leaders of AKPC. Embrace a team ministry philosophy and foster a collaborative spirit with Lifeway and AKPC staff, elders, and deacons.
✓ Discipleship: Equip, train, mentor, and disciple the leaders and members of Lifeway through discipleship, bible studies, prayer meetings, etc.
✓ Pastoral Care: Visit, pray for, and counsel members in need of prayer and support.
✓ Creativity: Execute new and innovative ways to reach the church and the unchurched. Be open-minded to new ideas and methods for ministry.

Qualifications
✓ Master’s Degree from an accredited theological school (M. Div. or higher)
✓ 4 years of experience leading and pastoring young adult/college/adult congregation
✓ Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
✓ Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships
✓ Have a passion and heart for college students
✓ Ordained in an evangelical denomination or be open to transferring to ECO
