Director of Children’s Ministry (Elementary)

Overview & Position: 

The First Presbyterian Church of Orange County (KAPC) in Westminster, CA, is currently looking to hire a part-time director or pastor for our children’s ministry, serving 25+ students in elementary grades. We are praying to find a candidate who has a passion for serving Christ and His church, with a big heart to nurture the next generation in the gospel.

  • Our ideal candidate would currently be enrolled in or have graduated from an accredited seminary and reformed in his/her theology OR have had equivalent experience serving and leading a ministry in a reformed/presbyterian church.
  • We are seeking a candidate who is a team player with a collaborative spirit and thrives in a dynamic environment, working alongside other ministries in an immigrant church context.
  • Being an immigrant, multigenerational church, a candidate who is fluent in English AND able to communicate in Korean would be preferred but not required.
  • All candidates must be a legal resident of the United States and eligible for employment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepare and lead weekly Sunday Worship at 11:30am, provide training and materials for Sunday School teachers to lead bible study classes following worship, including weekly prayer meetings with staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct and oversee a weekly fellowship activity on Friday evenings at 7:30pm and provide a children’s program and/or additional support for various church gatherings and events.
  • Complete and submit weekly reports detailing relevant information about the ministry including attendance, calendar of events, and specific prayer requests.
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings with the education staff on Saturday mornings, led by our Education Pastor.
  • Oversee and drive annual events such as summer VBS (June), Hallelujah Night (October), etc.
  • Provide mentoring and discipleship, including regular visitations and meetings with the children, families, and staff of the ministry.
  • Create and manage the calendar and budget of the ministry.
