Position Description
Be a part of a vibrant bi-cultural ministry in Cupertino, CA! The Home of Christ Church in Cupertino (HOC5) is looking for a youth pastor to shepherd our students from grade 6th-12th. HOC5 is a Chinese church in the middle of Silicon Valley serving primarily Mandarin and English speakers.

As a youth pastor, you will be a part of a team of pastors and elders (Chinese and English), but will work primarily with the English ministry pastors. If you are just starting out in ministry, our team of ministers have many decades of cumulative experience. We would love to be the place where you learn how to shepherd others under the mentorship of a ministry staff.

Qualifications
– Must be a follower of Jesus
– Lives a life marked by obedience to Christ. (1 Tim 3:1-7)
– A heart to shepherd and build up youth in Christ’s love (John 21:15)
– A love for God’s word (2 Tim 3:16)
– Able to work collaboratively (2 Tim 4:11)
– Mandarin language skills are not required but helpful.
– Familiarity with East Asian and Asian American culture is helpful.
– A bachelor’s degree and seminary degree or working towards a seminary degree

Responsibilities
– Plan and lead weekly youth fellowship meetings
– Plan and coordinate youth Sunday School
– Disciple and train youth leaders
– Build a team of adult volunteers from Mandarin and English services.
– Organizing community building events for the youth
– Attend weekly staff and monthly elder deacon board meetings
– Preach during Sunday service – frequency is negotiable
Compensation
This is a full time position with medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and medical FSA. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
