Youth Pastor

Journey of Faith Church (JOF) is an evangelical, Bible-adhering church of approximately 40 regular attendees (and approximately ten youth, ages 12-18), located at 1951 N. Alma School Rd, Chandler, AZ, 85224. JOF was founded by Korean-Americans, and its roots are Asian-American, but it is evolving into a multi-cultural and multi-racial church. The church has a Senior Pastor and part-time Children’s director. We lease the property at Chandler Preparatory Academy. We are seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Youth Pastor who has a passion to reach and mentor young people.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
●      Youth Ministry Responsibilities
o   Lead and abide by Journey of Faith’s mission statement
o   Develop an effective discipleship program for the youth
o   Develop and teach Youth Sunday School curriculum
o   Recruit and train up Sunday School teachers and youth leaders
o   Plan, facilitate, and lead major youth activities (mission trips, camps, retreats, etc.)
o   Visit families to build trust and relationships with youth parents
o   Perform other pastoral duties, such as baptisms, communion, etc.
o   Attend and participate in bi-monthly pastoral staff meetings, monthly ministry team meetings, and prayer meetings
o   Communicate and work with church leadership in a timely manner
●      Additional Growth Opportunities
o   Preach biblically sound sermons for the Worship service up to once a month (adults and youth)
o   Fill the pulpit for the Senior Pastor when he is absent
o   Visit and establish consistent relationships with adult members through life groups

QUALIFICATIONS
●      Called by God for pastoral ministry
●      Have a humble and teachable spirit
●      Demonstrate character as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-13
●      Have worked for at least one year in College, Youth, and/or Children’s ministry
●      Obtained or are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or equivalent, as determined by the deacon board
●      Demonstrates sensitivity and an ability to work in a multicultural environment
●      Demonstrates an ability to work with a team and to work under a Senior Pastor
●      Has strong written and verbal skills
●      Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
●      Full agreement with Journey of Faith’s doctrinal statement
