Administrator for Joy Englewood Position Description

Church: Joy Christian Fellowship (www.joychurch.com)
Title: Administrator
Report to: Associate Pastor of Operations
Category: Full time staff
Salary: $40,000 to $55,000 (commensurate with experience with health insurance benefits)

Job Description and Qualifications

The church administrator actively embodies and supports the church’s core values, mission statement, vision and various ministries. A major part of the job involves handling and managing the day to day operations of the church as directed by the supervising pastor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Be a member or willing to become a member of Joy Christian Fellowship
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills
  • Displays strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Pays close attention to detail and has excellent record keeping abilities
  • Has the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Competent in MS Suite, Google Suite
  • Adept with online platforms or willingness to learn


  • Weekly attendance for all staff meetings (Tuesday afternoon, Friday morning)
  • Submit and oversee billing for church operations and other ministries weekly
  • Update and send out weekly E-News
  • Prepare Sunday bulletins by updating weekly information and submitting to printing vendor by Wednesday
  • Manage platforms such as Breeze, Subsplash, Squarespace, and Google Suite weekly
  • Oversee and manage necessary church supply purchases for the church office and other church buildings
  • Contact and handle vendors/contractors for church maintenance as directed by supervising pastor
    • Fire Alarm System
    • Landscaping
    • Church Cleaning (i.e. bathroom, sanctuary, church buildings)
    • Construction & Repairs for church facilities
    • Additional vendors/contractors may be included that are not on this list
  • Assist other pastors/staff with specific tasks as overseen by the supervising pastor
  • Serve as the primary email correspondence with Joy’s missionary partners and maintain financial records pertaining to mission funds

Seasonal Responsibilities:

  • Retreat Logistics
    • Contact retreat sites for availability
    • Contact retreat speakers
    • Print, compile, and assemble retreat booklets and name tags o Oversee registration/rooming assignments
  • Handle appropriate purchases during seasonal events (i.e. Mother’s Day, Easter, Christmas, church picnics, etc.)
