Student Ministries Pastor

Overview

●       Our Mission: We exist to win people to Christ, discipling them to maturity in Christ, and sending them to win people to Christ (Matt. 28:18-20, Eph.4:11-16, Col. 1:28).

●       The Student Ministries pastor will manage and oversee all of the student ministries (nursery to college).

●       In addition, the primary focus will be on pastoring and shepherding the youth group, fostering an environment where the youth of this generation come to the saving knowledge of Christ, live for His glory, and grow to impact their generation for the purposes of God.

Key Responsibilities:

●       Spiritual Leadership:

o   Set the example as a model for the youth at Kansas Mission Church to aspire to as Paul says to Timothy “in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).

o   Teach, lead, and facilitate weekly Youth Group meetings, incorporating Bible study, worship, fellowship, and activities.

o   Work alongside the Senior Pastor to develop and implement a vision for student ministries that aligns with the church’s overall mission.

o   Work with volunteers, leading and overseeing them to care & shepherd the students well

o   Represent the church well in all aspects of life, whether public, private or online.

●       Ministry Management:

o   Oversee all of Student Ministries: Nursery, Children’s, Youth, and College

o   Reach middle and high schoolers for the Lord, growing a community of young believers together for Gospel mission

o   Teach, lead, & facilitate the weekly Youth Group (middle & high school) meetings

o   Coordinate and oversee youth events such as retreats, trips, lock-ins, and service projects, for fellowship, team building, community, and shared identity

o   Establish a presence in the local high school and community to connect with students and attend their events.

o   Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on youth activities and fostering their involvement in the church.

o   Utilize social media strategically to engage students and share the Gospel.

o   Oversee and manage the student ministries budget, including fundraising efforts.

●       Collaboration and Support:

o   Attend and actively participate in required staff meetings.

o   Attend and participate in Sunday morning services to build relationships with students and their families.

o   Assist other leaders and staff with church-wide events (e.g., Harvest Festival and VBS) as needed.

o   Work alongside Senior Pastor to cast vision for student/next gen ministries, aligning with church’s overall vision/mission, and student ministry identity

o   Involve and inform parents of youth meetings & events in a timely manner, including cancelations/adjustments to plans, as well as regular information/updates to keep families connected, growing together in faith, and joining with Kansas Mission Church’s mission/vision/events

Qualifications:

●       A passionate commitment to seeing young people come to know Christ and grow in their faith.

●       Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire students.

●       Experience in youth ministry or a related field.

●       A teachable spirit and a willingness to collaborate with others.

●       A commitment to personal and spiritual growth.

Reporting

●       Student Ministries Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor

Compensation

●       Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package.
