Youth Pastor

The primary function of the Youth Pastor is to direct the hearts and minds of our youth to Christ by managing and running programs that minister to middle and high school age youth and their families by way of activities, education and counseling in a prayerful manner.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine passion for the Gospel with a servant’s heart for middle and high school age youth
  • Love for families and youth
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and lead volunteer teams

Job Description:

  • Pray for the youth, families and volunteers regularly
  • Conduct worship and education for youth in grades 6-12 Sunday mornings and Wednesday or Friday evening
  • Care for and shepherd youth in collaboration with department heads, teachers, and parents
  • Work with Education Pastor to choose and prepare age-appropriate curriculum for youth service, small group bible study and discipleship programs
  • Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth
  • Plan and oversee special events such as Fall and Winter Retreat, Confirmations, etc.
  • Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new youth and families
  • Recruit, train, schedule and lead teams of volunteer teachers
  • Participate in pastoral staff meetings for guidance and planning
  • May be asked to assist with College and Young adult ministries from time to time

Compensation: Base salary + housing allowance
