Youth Pastor (Middle and High school)

New Covenant Fellowship Church (Germantown, MD)

Description:

●       New Covenant Fellowship Church (NCFC) is seeking a youth pastor with passion and experience. We desire a person who demonstrates excellent teamwork and collaborates with the English and Korean congregation pastors and staff.

 

Responsibilities:

●       Preaching and teaching: The pastor will be the primary preacher on Sundays and some Fridays for the youth ministry and oversee the Sunday school classes.

●       Pastoral care: The pastor will meet with youth members when necessary for their spiritual growth.

●       Small groups: The pastor will work closely with youth small group leaders and members to raise the next generation of leaders in the church.

●       Missions, Retreats, Activities: The pastor will coordinate and lead the youth group’s Summer mission trips, retreats, and activities.

●       Accountability: The pastor will work closely with the English Congregation Lead Pastor regularly. The pastor will be a part of the Education department, working with the Education Director and lay leaders.

●       Meetings: Participate in all staff meetings and retreats/conferences (as needed):

o   Weekly staff meetings, staff planning retreat, and other large ministry gatherings. In addition, participate in season church-wide events and holiday services

o   And any other reasonable ministry requests made by the Senior Pastor

●       Partnership with parents: Communicate and collaborate with parents regularly to strengthen and deepen their partnership in the home and the church

●       Church Culture: Committed to fully engaging in the NCFC’s staff leadership team culture and church’s community life

 

Qualifications:

●       Education: Graduated from an accredited seminary or will graduate in the near future

●       Residency status: US citizen or permanent resident able to work legally in the US

●       Language: Able to speak and give sermons in English (Conversational Korean is preferred but not required)

●       Professional Skills

o   Strong organizational and administrative skills

o   Excellent written and oral communication skills

o   Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

o   Discernment and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
