About New Hope Church of Michigan:

New Hope Church (NHC) is a fully independent, Presbyterian (PCUSA) church located in Novi, Michigan. The majority of our congregation are English-speaking Korean Americans, although we are becoming increasingly more diverse. Our vision is to be “Inspired and Inspiring” – inspired by the Word and Spirit of God and to be inspiring to the community around us. NHC is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who is passionate about reaching the unchurched, including youth and young families, and to integrate them into the life of the church.

Job Description:

The Pastor will lead the Staff and Session so that we are unified and committed to these priorities. Our Grow Ministry is led by an Associate Pastor, who oversees spiritual formation for children, youth, and young adults. Our new Pastor will work closely with the Associate Pastor and the members of the Grow Ministry to effectively reach the younger generation and to shepherd their growth.

Our Gather Ministry supports our geographical Home Groups (small groups) for adult members. Our Prayer Ministry meets weekly (or more) to pray for members, the church and the world. The Board of Deacons are the hands and feet of the church to meet the needs of our church members. Our new Pastor will guide these ministries to foster our church’s earnest desire for spiritual growth.

Our Go Ministry is responsible for Missions, both local and abroad. Our new Pastor will work with ministry members to provide creative and effective ways to serve others who need to experience the love of God.

Our Sunday worship remains central to the life of the church. Our new Pastor will work with the Worship Ministry to help foster authentic times of worship. Our worship is contemporary in style with praise being led by our Music Director and praise team.

Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited theological seminary with an MDiv degree
Fluent in the English language
Preference with experience in multicultural and/or multi-generational congregations
3-5 years of pastoral ministry experience
