EM Junior High/Middle School Youth Pastor

Pilgrim Mission Church is seeking qualified candidates for a half-time or full-time pastor of EM JH/Middle School ministry.  The JH/Middle School Pastor is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of about 90 students (grade 6 through 8) at Pilgrim Mission Church.  This includes leadership of weekly programs and periodic special events (camps, conferences, trips, service projects, etc.)  The successful individual will be a collaborative leader with a solid work ethic, possessing a passion for teaching students about God and the ability to co-administrate with a department Team Leader.  A working knowledge of creative programming related to student programs and special events is a plus.

Essential job functions are as follows:

Plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy services for middle school students.
Collaborate closely with Administrative Coordinator and department Team Leader for support and communication.
Lead a team of staff and volunteers in the creation and operation of a middle school student ministry, including weekly services and routine special events.
Develop and disciple a group of student leaders.
Cast vision for, teach, and program the church’s annual camp for middle school students including music selection, development of messages/teaching, and utilization of games and other artistic elements in the inspiration of middle school students in learning about God.
Design, plan, and conduct periodic parent meetings in order to meet the needs and expectations of families attending the church.
Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers as needed to staff weekly programs and special events.
Create and manage a middle school student ministry calendar that will drive all the activities and teaching of the ministry.

Qualifications are as follows:

Graduate of an accredited seminary institution with a post-baccalaureate degree in pastoral ministry and/or Christian education.
Minimum of two years of experience in youth ministry and/or Christian education.
Open minded learner willing to hear feedback from the teachers and adapt the team’s goals to best provide spiritual needs.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Heart for second-generation Korean-American youth ministry.
English-language fluency
