Riverside Community Church (RCC) is a Christ centered, bible believing church. We are a non-denominational, independent, EM Church located near New York City. We are a multi-generational community of different ethnic and racial groups, the largest contingency is English-speaking Korean-Americans. Ownership of our 20,000 sq ft church building has given RCC a strong sense of serving our community, in addition to being able to provide a robust set of ministries. Total compensation is commensurate with education and experience.

 

Requirements/Qualifications

●       Vision for an Asian-American or multi-ethnic church

●       Ordained with Master of Divinity degree from accredited Seminary and TH-M a plus

●       Gift of Preaching

  1. Proclaim God’s Word
  2. Directly tied to a scriptural text and stand firm on Biblical truths
  3. Spend the necessary time in study and prayer to preach with accuracy, in a manner easily understood, with the goal of compelling listeners to action.
  4. Inspire the congregation to live out the messages in their daily lives

●       Gift of Teaching

  1. Develop discipleship programs
  2. Have a general idea of the Curriculum and gauge effectiveness
  3. Edify congregation to effectively serve in the church and community
  4. Have vision for House Church and equip House Church Shepherds

●       People Skills/Character Traits

  1. Model transparency in his life with humility and integrity
  2. Share experiences and listen to others with empathy
  3. Show a willingness to listen to and implement new ideas
  4. Be easily approachable, counsel members and resolves conflicts

●       Minimum 3 years of pastoral experience

●       Links to 3 sermons

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct the worship services; Prepare and deliver sermons, Conduct Communion and Baptism
  2. Lead the church in an effective program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for persons in the church and community
  3. Visit members and prospects
  4. Conduct counseling sessions; perform wedding ceremonies; conduct funerals
  5. Serve as chairman of the Church Leadership Teams to lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the church ministries
  6. Work with deacons, church officers, and committees/teams as they perform their assigned responsibilities; train and lead the deacons in their ministry
  7. Serve as chief administrator of the paid church staff; supervise the work of the staff
  8. Meet with session for training, planning and discipleship
