TROYHOPE MINISTRY LEAD PASTORS POSITION
The TroyHope Ministry (“THM”) Lead Pastor’s primary role is to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation whereby there is discipleship, worship, evangelism, mission and Biblical knowledge that will enable the church members to grow closer to the image of Christ Jesus our Lord.

- Heart and passion for a multi-cultural and multi-generational ministry, especially within the family focused ministry setting.
- Good social and conflict-resolution skills.
- Administrative skills (organization, coordination, mobilization).
- Work within a “team” concept with other pastoral and staff members of Korean Methodist Church of Detroit (“KMC Detroit”).
THE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Guide and equip THM’s Servant Leaders (Church Council) group to administratively lead and support the ministry.
- Set and develop a yearly calendar of all THM events, training, special functions and congregational development.
- Will require collaboration with the Korean Ministry Pastoral Staff and Leaders to support the church vision and goals that are set annually.
- Care for the physically, emotionally, spiritually suffering members of THM
- Counseling sessions for pre-marriage couples, married couples, youth, children, family, substance abuse, and emotional issues.
- Coordinate all the aspects of THM worship for Sundays and special events with the Worship Chair and Worship Team.
- Provide clerical services of marriage, funeral, bereavement, pastoral care and sacraments.
- Establish short term (1-2 years), mid term (3-5 years), and long term (greater than 5 years) goals and strategic plans in accordance with the Churches vision.
- Maintain and enhance personal and spiritual development through the annual attendance of an approved source of professional training, conferences, or courses.
- Motivate and encourage potential candidates to become future leaders for THM.
- Lead and nurture our small group ministry with training, coordination and development of leaders
- Contribute and lead a climate that promotes diversity within THM and ultimately reaches out to the surrounding communities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a mature Christian who fully understands the love, the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ so that their life is a true testimony of that personal relationship with God
- A minimum of a M.Div. from an accredited seminary preferably recognized by the Methodist denomination
- Understand and accepts the Methodist theology that will influence the church as a body of Christ
- Be comfortable with a multicultural ministry setting
- Able to lead and support a family focused ministry
- Experienced in multiple overseas and local missions and ministries
